Please note there are no records of life members prior to 1922. It is possible that the club records are incomplete or that the club did not appoint life members at that time. But there are many people who were instrumental in forming the club and keeping it going during those early years.

First Grade Captain
Aryan Jain, also known as AJ, is our First Grade captain for the 2021-22 season. A key part of our First Grade side and an integral part of our leadership team. AJ is a quality opening batsman and brings a calm and composed approach to his leadership role.
Second Grade Captain
Matt Casey is a Magpie through and through. "Catman" was a junior Souths player and takes on the role of Second Grade captain for the first time. Matt is a lover of all sports and is a beloved Port Adelaide Power fan in the AFL.
Third Grade Captain
Mitch Connell returned to the club last season and is taking on the Third Grade captaincy for 2020-21. A former First Grade player, Mitchy will be looking for his side to compete but also develop some of our younger players and prepare them for higher grades in coming years.
Fourth Grade Captain
Corey "Diesel" Taylor returns as our Fourth Grade Captain this season. Corey has been at Souths since 2009 and this will be second year leading the Fourth Grade side. A real club man, Diesel is also an avid Liverpool and Brisbane Lions supporter.
Fifth Grade Captain
Coby takes on the role of Fifth Grade captain this year for the first time. Cobes will bring a different approach to the captain role this year, is one of the most genuine club cricketer you will fine and will fight over a bone. A great addition to our leadership team this year.
Sixth Grade Captain
Tom takes on the role Sixth Grade captain this year after the side took home the trophy in the one day competition last season. Gerks is a Magpie through and through and is a true club man. Another great appointment to the role and to our leadership team.
B1 - Sub Districts Captain
Alister will take up the role of B1 Subdistricts aptain for this season. Alister has captained our 6th grade side previously and is eager to lead with his experience while also developing some of the young talent coming through the club.
Jodie Fields Captain
Amanda has been further appointed our Jodie Fields Shield (2nd grade) captain for this season. Amanda has done a wonderful job in the role since appointment and has been part of some successful campaigns to date. Amanda is hoping the team can go one further from last year are missing out in the semi final in 2020-21.
Lord's Taverner Captain
Lukey Wegner is our Lord's Taverners (under 16) captain this year. Lukey brings a competitive approach to his captaincy and has an old head on his shoulders. A future leader of our club and a great choice as captain for our Lord's Taverners side.
Head Coach
Ken is a former First Grade player for Souths and Premiership winner. Ken has represented Queensland and had a distinguished coaching career winning many premierships in representative cricket and senior grade cricket. Ken brings a wealth of experience as a Level 2 coach and we are excited to have him on board for 2022-23
Director of Women's Cricket and Head Coach
Melissa will head up our Women's program and has extensive experience as a player and coach. Melissa will be driving the club's program forward to develop young cricketers for long term sustainability at Souths
Assistant Coach
Joe has come on board as an Assistant Coach this season. Joe has represented Queensland and coached at the highest level in Australian and overseas. The Club is extremely lucky to have Joe part of the coaching staff this season
Mens Grade and Under 19s coach
David Short is a former first grade player for Souths and is the current Mens grade coach and Under 19s coach.
Mens Grade Coach
Baba is a stalwart of the Club, a Life Member and was the Head Coach from last First Grade premiership in 2001. A level 3 coach who has international coaching experience through coaching sints in the Maldives (2002 ), Bhutan (2003-2007 ) and also in the Malaysian Premier League with Penang State. Known for his disciplinarian ways around the club, he continues to coach and develop junior players and works closely with seniors.
Coaches - Lord's Taverners
For the 2022 season, the club has appointed both Nick Perera and Ben Johnson as Head Coaches for our Lord's Taverners program. Both Nick and Ben are level 2 accredited coaches and are passionate about the development of young cricketers at Souths. Nick and Ben have extensive coaching experience at junior representative level, within the country and overseas. We look forward to supporting Nick and Ben as they prepare for the 2022 season
